Macro Meats was established in 1987 by founder Ray Borda. Ray believed that kangaroo meat may in fact be superior to other domestic meats being consumed. He worked very closely with the government and industry regulators for many years to assist and guide in the development of regulations for the kangaroo industry – these regulations still continue to be developed today. With persistence, hard work and 27 years of commitment, Macro Meats pioneered a huge shift in consumer perceptions towards the many benefits of eating kangaroo meat. The company believes that the nutritional and environmental benefits, together with an emphasis on food safety and animal welfare, have contributed to its increase in popularity.
